Good morning, Calgary!
I’m an admitted scaredy-cat, too faint of heart for horror movies, but I LOVE all things Halloween. So for the next 72 hours, I’ll be binging Halloween TV specials (mostly comedies) with a gluttonous amount of candy within arm’s reach.
That’s my ideal spooky season. And Halloween landing on a Saturday, so I get Sunday to nurse my sugar hangover? Chef’s kiss 🤌
There’s still a plethora of things to do around the city to get you in the ghostly mood, from ticketed events to a simple walk around Inglewood after dark. Seriously, though, why does Inglewood seem to have more ghost stories per capita than the rest of the city? Until the City changed it last week, the McKenzie Towne traffic circle was the scariest place in Calgary to me.

For some kids, the hard part of Halloween isn't the costume. It's the stairs up to the door, the candy they can't eat, or a porch with a fog machine and a screaming skeleton.
A few small changes can help, from moving your treats to the end of the driveway to putting a teal light on the porch. Here's how to make your door welcoming to every trick-or-treater, and where you can get your free Treat Accessibly lawn sign.
