Grab a seat at one of these theatre productions this holiday season

There are just a couple of weeks left of the year and the city is brimming with holiday-themed music, drinks, events, and of course, theatre productions. We wanted to share a snapshot of the holiday productions you can catch before the new year.

Home for the Holidays by Lunchbox Theatre at the Studio located at 161 – 115 9 ave. SE until Dec. 18

Lunchbox Theatre’s world premiere of the heartfelt and funny Home for the Holidays is about four strangers who find themselves stuck at an airport on Christmas Eve.

Naughty… But Nice!: Nine Live by Forte Musical Theatre Guild at the Studio Theatre, cSpace, 1721 29 Ave. SW until Dec. 23

This popular holiday show in its ninth year is a “sweet but risqué holiday celebration” meant for audiences 15 years old and up. Comedic, edgy, and fun!

Little Women by Theatre Calgary at Arts Commons, Max Bell Theatre until Dec. 31

For the first time in 35 years, Theatre Calgary isn’t running its traditional A Christmas Carol over the holidays, instead opting for the beloved coming-of-age-war-era classic Little Women.

The Nutcracker by Alberta Ballet at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium Dec. 16 to 24

An annual tradition, The Nutcracker is a classic tale that’s been told many times over the years. With live music by the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, you can’t go wrong.

There is also a variety of other holiday events happening this month, including Sparkle Sparkle at TELUS Spark Science Centre until Jan. 2, Zoolights at the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo until Jan. 8, GLOW Calgary Presents: Christmas Around The World until Dec. 24, and Once Upon a Christmas at Heritage Park Dec. 17, 18.
