As Calgarians watch the northern half of the province burn, there’s sadness and concern in the air. Calgary has set up an evacuation centre where displaced residents have been flowing into.
According to CTV, one of two wildfires threatening Jasper National Park reached the townsite Wednesday night and caused "significant loss.”
As CBC reported, After a long, winding journey out of Jasper and through a series of small B.C. communities, dozens of evacuees arrived in Calgary on Wednesday, relieved to be away from the wildfire danger but unsure about the resort town's future.
Experts say smoke from wildfires in northern Alberta, British Columbia and the United States are slowly entering the city and causing hazy skies and creating hazardous conditions. Check the current air quality index.
The Calgary Counselling Centre is reminding people that there's accessible mental health resources available.
