📺️Netflix: Reader hooked to Netflix at present. MAID, about a young woman with a daughter in an abusive relationship rebuilding her life. Fool Me Once, a British thriller about a woman whose husband is killed, but sees him on a nanny cam which suggests otherwise. A lot more British and foreign films (with sub-titles) worth watching.
RUHI’S PICK
📺️Both on Netflix:

Fool Me Once, a British thriller about a woman whose husband is killed, but sees him on a nanny cam which suggests otherwise.

Here’s what happened in the news this week
📰 More charges have been laid in Calgary murder case
Police have charged a second man with murder in relation to the death of a Calgary man earlier this year. As City News reports, the body of 33-year-old Kyle Schuiling was found on April 3, 2024 in Rocky View County when the Tsuut’ina Nation Fire Department responded to reports of a grass fire near Range Road 40 and Township Road 241. As the Herald reports, the suspect charged this week with murder in the disappearance of a Calgary man a year ago was on parole from a four-year prison term at the time of the alleged homicide.
📰 Workers picket as a massive rail work stoppage sweeps the country
As both of Canada’s major railways have locked out 9,300 workers after they failed to agree on a new contract by the deadline, and as CityNews reoprt, the union says “they aren’t the bad guys.” A day after the federal government stepped in with binding arbitration to force thousands of the rail workers back on the job, CTV is reporting that the union held a rally in Calgary to say they disagree with the move.
