Long before it was Calgary, the place where the Bow and Elbow rivers meet was known as Mohkinstsis to the Blackfoot, Wîchîspa Oyade to the Îyârhe Nakoda, Guts'ists'i to the Tsuut'ina and Otos-kwunee to the Métis. Calgary Citizen tells this city's stories on the traditional territory of the Treaty 7 Nations: the Siksika, Piikani and Kainai, the Tsuut'ina, and the Chiniki, Bearspaw and Goodstoney Nations of the Îyârhe Nakoda. This is also the homeland of the Métis, including the Calgary Nose Hill and Calgary Elbow Métis Districts.
