Today, Canadians pause to honour those who served and sacrificed for our country. Across Calgary, ceremonies will be held throughout the day to remember the fallen and recognize veterans who continue to carry the weight of their service.

The Field of Crosses along Memorial Drive has been illuminated each night since November 1st, with 3,700 crosses standing in memory of fallen Alberta soldiers. A televised ceremony takes place there at 10:10 a.m., though the memorial remains open around the clock for anyone who wishes to walk among the crosses and quietly remember.

The Military Museums will host a ceremony beginning at 10:45 a.m., with the museum opening to the public by donation afterwards. The Jubilee Auditorium's service starts at 10:30 a.m., while Studio Bell will hold its ceremony at 10:40 a.m. and remain open throughout the day with free admission for veterans and active service members.

At North Glenmore Park, the King's Own Regimental Band will lead a full parade starting from the Weaselhead Natural Area parking lot at 10:30 a.m., stepping off to the 137 Battalion Memorial. The band will then perform at two Royal Canadian Legion branches later in the afternoon—at 1:30 p.m. at the Horton Road location and 4:30 p.m. in the northeast.

CPKC will hold its annual ceremony at Memorial Square on Ogden Dale Road at 11 a.m., observing a moment of silence followed by a train whistle at 11:02 a.m. The Hangar Flight Museum's ceremony begins at 10:15 a.m., with the museum open by donation afterwards.
