Just off 16 Ave NE on Edmonton Trail sat the beloved cow house that was demolished on June 14. // Submitted

In the midst of Calgary's urban jungle, a one-of-a-kind building stole the hearts of Calgarians far and wide. Situated on Edmonton Trail just off 16 Ave NE, this udderly charming abode known simply as the “cow house” has a history as wild as a stampede. Built in 1900, this bovine-inspired home boasts over a century of wacky adventures. It started off as a regular old home, but over the years, it has transformed into all sorts of establishments from a consignment store to a tattoo parlour, and finally, a nail salon.

Last tenant: Cera Jade rolled up her sleeves, grabbed a paintbrush, and turned the cow house into the Obsession Spa in 2020. But alas, her spa days came to an end in January 2022 when the house got sold and her lease got terminated.
