17 cows died during a semi truck rollover in Calgary

Police don’t believe that alcohol or drugs were a factor in the ro9llover that killed 17 cattle b ut think speed may have been. // Shutterstock

Police believe speed was a possible factor in a rollover involving a semi-truck that left 17 cows dead in an accident on Stoney Trail SE and Macleod Trail SE. Police say the rollover occurred when the semi attempted to navigate a curve at a possible high speed. This video on Reddit shows what happened when the semi tipped onto its side and crashed on Tuesday night.

As CBC reports, Calgarian Taras Vasylyshyn was driving behind the semi-trailer truck when it exited onto the ramp, and captured the vehicle's rollover via a dashcam. This is what he saw.

According to CityNews, three cattle ran towards the south end of the Stoney and Macleod interchange and cattle rustlers and highway crews spent almost two hours trying to corral the animals.
