Delicious donuts, Noodle Week, and one last week for survey

Good morning !

The YYC Noodle Festival is underway and there are 14 noodle vendors showcasing more than 20 noodle dishes, so noodle lovers should definitely check it out! The organizers have also partnered with the Calgary Selfie Museum and instead of serving hot noodle soup, they have a creative noodle-themed installation at the museum for people to take selfies. Have fun!

Check out Doughnut Party in Inglewood.

As Homer Simpson would say, “Mmm donuts!” There’s just something about these little rings of fried dough dipped, topped, and/or glazed with extra deliciousness. Donuts are also just as yummy in miniature form, filled, or as a fritter. Here are eight spots serving up some of the best donuts that Calgary has to offer.

Doughnut Party: This newer spot opened in Inglewood and there's a reason it's already so popular. And you can even create your own custom doughnut letter box.

Beebop: These decadent donuts are handmade fresh every day at the downtown shop. Try the Dawn, which is Beebop’s signature donut with purple yam dough and glaze.

Fantasy Donuts and Pretzels: Stop into Crossroads Market or Avenida Food Hall to try one of these delicious offerings. The salted caramel comes highly recommended.

Glazed and Dazed: Follow this yummy home-based business on social media to find out what weekly flavours are on offer. Customers rave about the apple fritters.

Hoopla Donuts: This wildly popular spot has nine Calgary locations to get your donut fix. There are seasonal offerings and staple flavours including coconut mango and churro.

Jelly Modern: With three locations, this is always a donut fan favourite. There are hand-dipped and hand-filled options including cookies and cream and peanut butter cup.

Sweet Caroline’s: Located in Auburn Bay, this home-based business bakes up fresh donuts that are as sweet as the name suggests. Try the glazed or cinnamon sugar.

Sweet Rice: Specializing in mochi donuts, this gluten-free dessert and snack shop in Manchester Industrial makes everything out of rice.

Where to eat and drink

🍴 Marda Loop Brewing: There’s excitement almost every day at this Marda Loop spot with wing nights, taco nights, dog-friendly patios, and live music nights.

🍴 Milpa: This Beltline restaurant and cocktail bar is led by Top Chef competitor chef Elia Herrera and boasts striking turquoise arches and serves creative dishes as well as tasty cocktails.
