Calgary Citizen Newsletter Thursday Oct. 5

Good morning, there!

How are you feeling? Now, how are you REALLY feeling? If you’re not sure or just want to check in with yourself, take this free online three-minute self-assessment. The anonymous quiz screens for depression and provides useful tools, and can be accessed until Sunday as part of the Calgary Counselling Centre’s 17th annual National Depression Screening Day initiative. While depression is the most common mental health issue—one in four people become depressed at some point in their lives—it’s treatable, and it helps to recognize and address it. That’s why this tool is a great simple way to ask yourself, how are you REALLY feeling? Have a great Thanksgiving weekend!

Aditi Loveridge, pictured at left, is a certified pregnancy and infant loss coach, and founder and CEO of Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support Centre.

It’s estimated that one in four known pregnancies end in loss, a number that is under the microscope as October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.

Aditi Loveridge founded the Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support Centre (PILSC) in Calgary almost five years ago. Ten years ago, Loveridge lost two pregnancies. Her third pregnancy led to her living child, who is now nine years old. She knew she wanted to change the way people were supported.

“It was the universe guiding me, and a lot of my own personal and professional experience that led me to this place,” Loveridge says.
