Where to get eggs benny crafted to perfection in Calgary
The perfect eggs benny is like a balanced work of art. Creamy hollandaise, a soft poached egg with a runny yolk, a well-marinated protein, all piled on top of a crispy homemade carb. Are you hungry yet?
We sure are and we are excited to say that Calgary has some of the best brunch spots in the country (we may be biased) to get a flawless eggs benny. Whether you’re heading out on a first date, catching up with friends, or switching up your breakfast routine with your partner, there are so many spots around the city cooking up their own creative creations of the sought-after benny.
Here are five of our favourites!
Nestled in the heart of Sunnyside, just off of Kensington, this little french bistro got a major upgrade to its interior during COVID. Open now, their inside looks incredible, but their well-known benny’s haven’t changed a bit. Choose from a single or double portion — depending on how hungry you are — and choose from shaved ham, avocado and halloumi, cured salmon, mushroom, pulled pork and more! All benny’s are topped with their buttery-rich Boursin hollandaise.
This is one small, but mighty little brunch spot located in the Beltline and Inglewood. Choose from their classic Bacon Benny, Salmon Benny, or Spinach Benny. Feeling adventurous? Dive into their Chorizo Benny with caramelized onions and goat cheese, or their Brisket Benny with mushrooms and truffle ricotta.
They are known for their unique bennys that are fresh and crafted to perfection. Try their Ghost Pepper and Chorizo, Lobster and Tarragon, or Korean BBQ Braised Short Rib — just to name a few. If you like to stick to the classics, their traditional eggs benny is equally as sought after and delicious.
Also known as Over Easy Breakfast, these breakfast joints are scattered all over the city and are known for their farm-fresh bennys. All of their bennys are poached on a delicious butter croissant and topped with their iconic brown butter hollandaise. Our favourite? Holy Crab, featuring wild blue crab, fresh dill, and dijon mustard.
A suburbia favourite, this breakfast bistro is located in the communities of Creekside, Mahogany, and Signal Hill. Known for their benny bar, each benny is crafted on a homemade Belgian waffle and served with a side of their famous duck fat hash. They only offer four options, but trust us they have mastered them.
