The Terry Fox Foundation's annual Ride of Hope is coming to Calgary on Sunday, July 12, and cyclists of all experience levels are welcome to take part.

Now in its 12th year, the Ride of Hope is a collection of community cycling fundraisers taking place across seven provinces this summer, all organized by volunteers and inspired by Terry Fox's iconic Marathon of Hope. Every dollar raised goes directly toward cancer research through the Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network, a pan-Canadian initiative connecting researchers, oncologists, and patient partners to advance precision medicine.

This year, the Foundation is introducing three new "Terry Tough" challenges — elevated cycling events designed to honour Terry's determination — including one in Alberta. There is no registration fee, and cyclists can find their local ride or create their own at terryfox.org/terry-fox-ride-of-hope.

Since its launch in 2015, the Ride of Hope has raised more than $2.25 million for cancer research across Canada.
