Good morning !
Last week, we asked if you would be impacted by construction around the Saddledome and BMO Centre—it turns out that most of you are already avoiding the area! One reader said “downtown is a nightmare in more ways than one. I avoid it like the plague,” while another was “looking forward to a shiny new venue that will bring Calgary back into the Big Leagues.”

QUICK POLL
Did you feel politically engaged when you were in high school? |
Students headed to the polls alongside voting-age Canadians
Students will be voting alongside the Canadian electorate on April 28 through the Student Vote Canada program, run by Elections Canada and CIVIX, a charity focused on civic education.
Student Vote Canada gives young learners at participating schools a chance to play the role of election workers and to vote for the official candidates running in their school’s riding, using real voting materials from Elections Canada.
"Student Vote provided us with the opportunity to research the candidates and make an informed decision. I really enjoyed the vote,” said a past participant. “Participating in Student Vote has given me the confidence to vote in a real election once I am eligible."
Election Canada says that the program, which has been running since 2004, typically ends with the same governing party as the real election, but sometimes with a different party breakdown.
