Welcome to the spookiest weekend of the year! 

From markets to parties to murder mysteries to ghost tours to ghoulish brunches, there is absolutely no shortage of fun to be had for all-ages in and around the city this Halloween weekend. So grab your most creative costume and enjoy these scary and non-scary events that are both in-person and virtual — you never know when you’re going to run into a costume contest and a panel of picky judges!

Monster Market 

Shop local makers, artists, and small businesses and help support the Children’s Cottage Society.

Pumpkin Carving and Craft Beer 

One ticket includes a pumpkin to carve and take home, carving tools, and a draft beer or non-alcoholic beverage.

Halloween at the YouthLink Calgary Police Interpretive Centre 

Solve a mummy mystery and watch out for the haunted rooms and ghoulish surprises planted around the museum.

Always the most anticipated Halloween event of the year. Admission gets you into all six haunted houses — can you make it through them all?

Halloween Thriller 

Get ready for a mega Halloween party with prizes for the best costumes and the best tunes and club anthems playing all night long.

Halloween Party at The Back Alley 

This legendary event is back bigger than ever.

WERK Purgatory Halloween Party

Hosted by the one-and-only Kendall Gender of Canada’s Drag Race Season 2. 

Where: The Palace Theatre – 219 8 Avenue SW

Halloween at the Ship 

Win prizes for best costumes and enjoy the frightening sounds from DJ RO-B1.

Field of Screams at Cobbs Adventure Park 

Get ready for a terrifying, thrilling, and hair-raising terror show brought to you by Screamworks Inc. This event will certainly test your bravery!

Willy Wonka Halloween Cocktail Party 

Head to TEN Degrees Chocolate and enjoy an elevated party in a chocolate factory with appys and a three-course meal paired with a delicious cocktail. Make sure you leave room for dessert!

Howling Halloween Thriller 

Enjoy a Halloween event — wolf-dog style! 

Where: Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary – 263156 Range Road 53

Inglewood Ghost Walk 

Journey through the most haunted neighbourhood in Calgary. 

Where: Rosso Coffee – 1400 9 Avenue SE

Trick, Treat, & Triumph

Listen to the shrieks of Hermann’s Suite from ‘Psycho’ and celebrate our (hopeful) soon-to-be victory of the pandemic with Beethoven’s triumphant ‘Symphony #5.’

Dress up and enjoy trick-or-treating around the Calgary zoo. Costumes are encouraged!

Halloween Brunch 

Enjoy a spooky brunch in the heart of Destination Africa.

Conquer a scavenger hunt and enjoy the rides and games of Hallotown.

Spooktacular Grim Mini Golf 

Winsports 18-hole mini golf course has been transformed into an all-ages halloween-inspired land. Costumes aren’t mandatory, but encouraged!

Pumpkins After Dark

Check out thousands of hand-carved pumpings and live carving demonstrations at this awarding winning Halloween event celebrating its first year in Calgary.

Haunted Calgary Presents: Museum of the Macabre 

This immersive Halloween experience takes us to another level of fear with over 6000 square feet of horrors.

Where: New Horizon Mall – 260300 Writing Creek Crescent

The Dash of Doom 

Run virtually or in-person at this pet-friendly Halloween race and help raise funds for the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society.

Ghouls’ Night Out

This is a perfect Halloween event for you and your littles! Enjoy one of the many outdoor shows, a take-home craft kit, a monster-sized game of Operation, and sneak through Tinkerman’s funhouse.

Halloween Horror Movie Marathon 

Calgary’s Underground Film Festival is hosting back-to-back nights of curated horror movie classics.

A Symphony of Darkness

Presented by Ghost Stories YYC, this annual event is a visual storytelling art show with ghostly tales filled with ghouls and macabre around a crackling campfire.

Where: The Boutique at Nvrlnd – 1048 21 Avenue SE

2021 CJSW Funding Drive Wrap-Up Party: Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun

Enjoy a custom party at containR park with Brews from Village Brewery, eats from Alumni Sandwiches, and tunes from Sled Island and CJSW’s best DJs. Costumes will be judged by a panel of local celebrity judges.
