10 Independent stores to shop for the holidays
If the movie, Confessions of a Shopaholic was based on a true story, it would likely begin on this very weekend. Deals, discounts, and oh so many savings — for those who get that familiar adrenaline rush when they tap their credit card, this weekend is yours for the taking.
With that being said, we want to remind our readers to slow down, take advantage of the sales on the items you really need, and then consider spending your dollars locally for the remainder of your Holiday shopping. It’s been a rough year and small businesses throughout the city are either struggling hard or just merely getting by.
So shop smarter, not harder. Get intentional with your purchases and choose items that are unique, tell a story, and will last forever. When you tap your card at a small business a shop owner jumps for joy, the maker/artist/creator bursts with happiness knowing they can continue doing what they love, and their families are supported by the quality of their craft.
Here are 10 locally-owned, independent shops to consider supporting on this Small Business Saturday as you shop for all your friends and family this holiday season.
